Privacy Policy
ScreenDuo is a recording tool. The recordings it makes are yours, they stay on your devices, and we have no way to see them.
Your screen recordings, camera video and audio never leave your own devices. ScreenDuo has no account system, no cloud storage and no upload feature. There is no server for us to store your video on, because we never receive it.
Your recordings
Everything ScreenDuo captures — screen video, camera video, microphone audio, app audio, edit drafts and exported files — is written to storage on the device that captured it, or saved where you explicitly choose to put it, such as your photo library or a file you share yourself.
We cannot access any of it. No copy is transmitted to us, and the app contains no code that uploads recordings anywhere.
What we collect
ScreenDuo sends a small set of anonymous product-usage events through TelemetryDeck, an analytics provider that is designed for privacy and does not build advertising profiles. These events tell us which features are used and whether they succeed. They contain no recording content.

TelemetryDeck receives these alongside coarse technical context such as the app version, operating system version and device model, and a rotating identifier that is not linked to you and cannot be used to identify you. We use this only to understand how the app is used and to fix what is broken.
What we never collect
- The content of your screen, camera or microphone recordings
- Screenshots, thumbnails, frames or previews of anything you record
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address
- Your contacts, calendar, messages, health data or browsing history
- Your precise or approximate location
- Payment card details or billing information
- Any advertising identifier
ScreenDuo has no login, so there is no account for us to attach data to.
Device permissions
ScreenDuo asks only for what a recording needs, and only when you use the feature that needs it. Each permission is used solely for the purpose described below, and the resulting data stays on your device.
- Camera — to record you as a layer alongside your screen.
- Microphone — to record narration while you capture.
- Screen recording — to capture your screen through the system broadcast feature.
- Photo library (add only) — to save a finished export when you ask us to. ScreenDuo requests add-only access and cannot read your existing photos.
- Local network — to find and connect to your other device when pairing.
You can withdraw any of these at any time in your system settings. The related feature stops working; nothing else is affected.
Pairing between devices
When you pair two devices, they talk to each other directly over your local network. The connection is encrypted with TLS using a shared key generated for that pairing session, so the screen, camera and audio being streamed between your own devices are protected in transit.
This traffic does not pass through our servers or any third party. We operate no relay and no intermediary for paired sessions.
Purchases
ScreenDuo Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account credentials. We receive only the confirmation from your device that a valid purchase exists, which is what unlocks the app.
Restoring a purchase asks Apple to re-confirm it on that device. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction itself.
This website
screenduo.app uses the same TelemetryDeck analytics to count page visits and see which sections are read. It sets no advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Tracking
ScreenDuo does not track you. We do not follow you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not share data with data brokers or advertising networks, and we do not sell your data. Because no tracking happens, the app does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Retention
Your recordings stay on your device until you delete them; we hold no copy and cannot delete them for you. Anonymous analytics events are retained by TelemetryDeck in aggregate form and are not tied to an identifiable person, so they cannot be traced back to you or singled out.
Children
ScreenDuo is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and given that we collect no personal information at all, none is collected from any user regardless of age.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data a company holds about you, and to object to its processing.
In practice, we hold no personal data about you to produce, correct or erase. If you want the analytics described above stopped for your device, contact us and we will tell you how to disable them, or you can simply delete the app. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will answer.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and the current version always lives at this address. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes rather than made quietly.
